Star Sound Technologies Caravelle Speaker Stands, Over the Top Isolation Platforms

Star Sound Technologies was one of those companies during the late 1990s and early 2000s which developed incredible products but just happened to hit the hi-end market a bit too late to really get a foothold.  Of note, the company created rack stands and speaker stands under the "Sistrum" moniker that, if one wasn't careful, one could mistake them for space missile launching pads.  These stands are made from THICK SOLID steel planks and jet-cut to specific shapes and patterns to accommodate Star Sound's ingenious mounting methods. 

The stands we have here were designed for Star Sound's own Carvelle speakers in 2006.  It's not known how many speakers, nor stands, were produced, but we have an example in wonderful condition.  Featuring Star Sound's isolation principles throughout, these stands are STOUT.  

Starting with the solid brass, machined 3-inch spikes at the bases, everything about these stands is over the top. The uprights are also turned from solid brass, with threaded inserts to accommodate Star Sound's "points" - hardware sets that allow the uprights to be positioned exactly where your specific stand-mount speakers would dictate.   The top plates are then tightened down with another set of 3-inch solid brass spikes with mounting points above.  

The whole system is equally ingenious and crazy. 

Each stand weighs over 50 pounds. The name of the game is density, used to overcome vibration, and it works. 

Being offered here for a fraction of their original cost, these stands are conversation starters and also incredibly functional equipment.  Beautifully presented and solidly built.
