Galion Audio TS120, "5-Star" Tube Integrated Amplifier

Galion Audio is a newcomer to the hi-fi world.  Based out of Quebec, Canada, Thomas Tan started Galion following the incredible success of his YouTube audio channel, Thomas & Stereo.  Might this be the first time an online influencer creates and award winning audio company as a result of his acoustic endeavors?  We aren't sure, but what we are sure about is the heft and overall amazing quality of this particular model, the TS120 Integrated Amplifier. 

There's not a ton of info online about this piece, ironically, but what little there is contains a laundry list of positive affirmations that this amp sounds extraordinary.  The TS120 is able to operate in either Class A or Class AB mode, which is a user-selectable feature.  The wiring scheme for this switch is slightly different than traditional methods, and Galion claims has none of the drawbacks of traditional Triode nor Ultra-Linear arrangements.  A massive power supply and capacitor bank ensure that this amp can deliver power and clarity, whenever needed, to nearly any speaker it comes across. 

This amp ships with a Quad of Psvane KT88 output tubes as standard fare, offering 30 watts per channel in Class A mode and 75 watts per channel in Class AB mode, into an 8 ohm load, RMS.  That's a lot of tube power to choose from.  Tube swapping is easy with the TS120's auto-biasing feature, and three styles are supported, KT88, KT120 and 6550. 

This amp came to us barely broken in.  The owner decided to moved toward an all-in-one solid state integrated (Gold Note IS-1000); but he did the old "look back" at the Galion several times before finally driving off and leaving it with us.  

His attachment to this amp was not unfounded.  It does sound glorious.  Rich and loose when needed, and tight and controlled when the program material calls for it.  The packaged Psvane output tubes have plenty of grunt, and the KT88 selection is the perfect pick for midrange warmth.    This unit comes in the factory packaging, with remote, and the optional protective "cage." 

Demos of this amp are highly encouraged in Andover, MA.  But of course, if you can't make it here in person, we can ship this beauty to you as needed.
